This Thesis This thesis that the effectiveness of health services to prisoners based on Government Regulation No. 58 of 1999 on Terms of Procedures for the Implementation of Authority and Responsibility of Prisoners \u27Care in the Framework of Fulfillment of Prisoners\u27 Rights In Prison Class IIA Pontianak. The approach method used in this research is the sociological juridical approach. From the result of this thesis research, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of fulfilling the right of prisoners to get the proper health service in Prison Class IIA Pontianak has not run well. Various obstacles faced by the prisons, these constraints include over capacity, HIV / AID that occurred in Class I Correctional Institution Pontianak, still lack of officers in Prison Class IIA Pontianak and also the prison is still constrained budget problem limited. The impact of various obstacles faced by the prison is the care by health workers to the prisoners who are suffering from the disease has not done well and health facilities or medical equipment and medicines in the clinic is not sufficient to support the health of the prisoners in Penitentiary Class IIA Pontianak. The Prison Class IIA Pontianak provides services and care, which are related to health and food services for prisoners. The Penitentiary Efforts provide services and care to HIV / AIDS prisoners. Recommendation: it is better that Classification Prison Service of IIA Pontianak is filled in accordance with the amount of cell capacity of 1 room 8 people so that the process of guidance and health for the prisoners runs more effectively and well. Parties Prisons Class IIA Pontianak also need to consider the effort of expansion of land / area in Prison Class IIA Pontianak related over capacity that is happening. Adding the number of specialists to specialists such as doctors, nurses and psychologists to maximize the healthcare process and also add some experts in the processing of food such as chefs and nutritionists so that the food given to the inmates meets the standards. Planning a budget to complement facilities that can support the needs of prisoners such as making improvements to the storage of food by providing a clean special room accompanied by a temperature control so that existing foodstuffs are not easily damaged. Parties Prisons Class IIA Pontianak also need to consider to develop existing health facilities such as providing ward for the prisoners and complete the type of drugs provided.
